Schmoozing the Hi-tech way

The Pop!Tech conference in Maine last month brought in a new way to help visitors meet and greet each other. Each of the conferences 500 attendees were given an nTag to wear around their neck.

About the size and weight of a PDA, this device was supplied with information about the wearer, including their work history and interests. The tags communicate with each other via infrared, and when an nTag finds someone else that its owner might find interesting, it alerts its owner to the other person.

Now if only they could eliminate the person altogether…
