Global Cooling?

Record cold temperatures have caused three of the Great Lakes to freeze over, something that happens only once a decade. A month of frigid temperatures below -20C has created a blanket of ice over Lakes Huron, Superior and Erie.

The ice, seen on satellite images, averages 60cm thick. The St. Lawrence Seaway has delayed its opening by almost a week to March 31, and estimates show that shipping before April 15th will be more difficult the normal due to the ice cover.
