The concept of E-paper has been around and in development for a few years now, but it has been difficult to find a way to package it in a usable format. The folks at Seiko looked at this technology and saw it as simply a great flexible display, and saw an opportunity for a totally new watch design using this new material.
The new watch, exhibited last week at a jewelry show in Switzerland makes use of a 3 x 9 cm e-Paper curved into a bracelet-shaped watch. It allows different watch faces, including constantly-altering mosaic patterns. This could be the next generation of SPOT watches!
